Coffee! This word is connected to a lot of people on emotional grounds. Be it a morning coffee, mid-night coffee, or your favorite coffee in a coffee shop, people love it because they need a kick of caffeine. Here I am going to tell you some basic coffee beverages that you should know about and if you don’t know then you should try it at least once.

Espresso

Espresso is the base of every other coffee. It is made with 2 things: hot boiling water and some tamped ground coffee beans. You can top it with a little crema and adding sugar is totally optional.

Double Espresso

This Italian originated drink is similar to Espresso but in this coffee drink, you add double the shots of espresso, rest everything is the same.

Macchiato

There are two types of Macchiato – short macchiato and long Macchiato. Short macchiato is a subtler version of espresso but this coffee is topped with creamier milk or milk foam. On the other hand, long macchiato has double espresso shots topped with steamed milk and foam. A macchiato contains lesser amount of milk.

Americano

Americano is best for office going people who need a kick of caffeine. This coffee is 2/3rd parts of water and 1/3rd part of the extracted espresso. It works like magic!

Latte

This is a go-to for everybody all around the world. It is made out of 1 shot of espresso and milk (can be made flavoured too). It can be sweetened or unsweetened depending on your choice.

Cappuccino

Cappuccino is 1/3rd espresso, 1/3rd milk and 1/3rd milk foam. It’s a nice balance plus a very flavourful beverage to have. Sometimes it is topped with chocolate powder or chocolate syrup for a better taste.

Flat White

It is similar to cappuccino except for the milk foam. It has one or two espresso shots and micro foamed milk. Kid you not, this can keep you awake for a long time.

Piccolo Latte

It is made in an espresso cup with the same amount of coffee but less hot water, which means it is super strong flavour but the milk helps in toning down the bitter taste.

Mocha

One of the most famous coffees beverages of all time. This is a mixture of chocolate drink and cappuccino, i.e. 2/3rd part of cappuccino and 1/3rd part of chocolate powder. Little chocolate can be sprinkled on the top to make it rich in taste.

Affogato

It is a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and a shot of espresso. Voila!

Regular Black Coffee

This is a basic coffee drink that is brewed straight from coffee Brewer, French press, or any coffee making machine. It increases mental clarity and keeps you awake.

P.S. – add a little sugar and you will love it a little more.

Cold Brew Coffee

This beverage is served cold, with some cold espresso shot (hot espresso shot is kept overnight or for less time in the refrigerator) with crushed ice. A delight to have in summers!

Iced Coffee

The coffee is made as a regular hot brew (hot espresso shot) and after that, it’s added to the ice with milk and some sweetener.
